The Design

The radio is shaped like a spoon box and plays when the lid is opened. The lid also contains the loop aerial. When horizontal, the lid does not stand open by itself, so I expected some little rod to keep it up, but it isn't there.

There is ample room for a plate battery of 67.5V and the circuitry. To save space, capacity linear tuning condenser is used, which causes the dial to be rather asymmetric. Observe the space between 55 and 60, and then between 110 and 160.

This Object

The radio was in working order when I got it, but I had to customize the batteries.
