The Erres KY505 is a very standard 1950 radio, like workers' families would have after saving their money for several years. The Van der Heem radios technically ressembled Philips a lot, like all radios in The Netherlands did, But a typical Van der Heem aspect is the large tuning capacitor drive wheel depicted above.

This Object
As a young boy I was once given my first tube radio: an Erres KY505. This radio has long found its way to the dump, but I was happy to be able to get another one of the same type. I gave it an electrical overhaul and replaced the grille cloth.
