The Design

A lot of radio's tune Medium and Long Waves, but with all the Long Wave stations closing, a set with 49m band is more useful. This pocket set uses a ferrite rod antenna for the 49m band, but this is not a very good choice, as it is quite unsensitive. For most listening, at least the whip antenna is needed, but for many weaker stations an additional external antenna must be used.

This Object

The radio was completely dead, but came to life after cleansing the power switch. So this was a quite easy repair.

A few more minor things were fixed. The antenna tip misses and I glued some yellow material there. The headphone jack was defective and I replaced it. I wired it so that both a mono and a stereo headset can be used. I cleaned the corroded battery contacts and smoothened the dial pointer. The leather pouch is there but misses the carrying strap.
