The Design

Magnavox was a Philips-owned brand for products for the American market. These radio's were sold in the Philips employee shop in The Netherlands.

The radio is very tiny, still has a sturdy look and feel, it is not very light. Understandibly, the sound quality from the little built-in speaker is not very impressive, but in a headphone the sound is very good.

There is a carrying strap and a belt clip, a ferrite rod for MW, and whip antenna (which extends 22cm) for FM.

It is a bit of a guess when the radio was made. Of course, tiny AM/FM pocket radio's were found from 1980 to 2000. Judged by the design (the curvy blue front) I'd say closer to 1990. But still this might be five years off.
