The Maxxter speakers are a small laptop accessoire. You can also use them with a smartphone, though most people would prefer a wireless (bluetooth) option there. The 8002A amplifier is supposed to deliver up to 2W in a 4 Omh load, but in this unit, that does not happen. The power consumption is about 3.5W with no signal, and 3.6W at full volume. This speaker set is hardly more than a headphone without the connection bar.

To construct a nice mini amplifier, open the set and make the loudspeaker wire external. Inside is just a small power transformer (size 3cm), a PCB with two 8002A amplifiers, and a 5cm speaker. Voltage across the capacitor (under the board) is 5.8V. I made the leads to the speaker (the one internal and the other in the second cabinet) external, so a larger speaker can be connected. In most PC speaker sets, the sound quality is limited mainly by the small and poor cabinet, and the internal amplifier is quite reasonnable. But in this set, the amplifier is also of quite poor quality, and connecting larger speakers results in a disappointing sound quality.
